  • If the card reader asks for secondary authorization, ask the customer to sign or enter their PIN.

  • Insert the card in the narrow slot at the bottom of the card reader. The card must be facing upwards and with the chip on the reader's side.

In the case of signature authorization, the customer needs to sign above the line displayed on the screen of the mobile device using their finger. Otherwise, the customer will need to enter their PIN on the card reader’s keyboard and click ‘Enter’ () to complete the transaction.
  • If the customer has given their signature, visually check if it is the same as the signature on their card. If correct, tap ‘Authorize’ to complete the transaction.
  • Ask the customer to complete the purchase by authenticating the card with their PIN. Let the customer enter their PIN on the card reader’s keyboard and click ‘Enter’ () to complete the transaction. The customer can correct an incorrectly entered number with the yellow arrow key.
  • In case of success, ‘Transaction successful!’ message will appear on the screen of the mobile device.
  • After this step, you can print the receipt or send it to the customer via SMS text message or e-mail.

Note: If none of these methods result in success, swipe the card if possible (if it has a magnetic stripe).
